We do not begin with a claim.
We begin with a question.
The Laboratory is where AMAOTO observes before it makes: tracing an ingredient, listening to an atmosphere, testing how an object is held, and removing whatever does not need to be there.
It is a creative practice grounded in provenance, restraint and clear language. Cultural observations remain distinct from medical or scientific claims.

Origin, processing, composition and handling are recorded plainly. Rarity matters only when its story can be traced.

Ingredients enter the Maison as questions. Their identity, processing, composition, handling and sensory character are recorded before any edition is considered complete.
02 — Certification

Certification, with quiet rigor.
Growers, makers and ateliers may submit materials and finished rituals for evaluation under the private AMAOTO Laboratory standard—selective, confidential and precise.
We do not certify for volume. We evaluate for provenance, integrity, sensory restraint and a clear relationship between origin, purpose and use.
Material Integrity Review
Origin, maker, processing, composition and handling are organized into a clear provenance record.
Finished Ritual Evaluation
Texture, aroma, sound, tactility, presentation and responsible use are considered as one complete ritual.
AMAOTO House Standard
Works demonstrating material honesty, sensory restraint and coherent purpose may receive private AMAOTO Laboratory certification.

AMAOTO certification is a private house evaluation. It is not medical approval, laboratory accreditation, regulatory certification or a guarantee of results.
03 — Private Acquisition

For work that belongs nowhere ordinary.
Exceptional materials, recordings, formulations and ritual ideas may be considered for private acquisition or exclusive development within AMAOTO MAISŌN.
What we may consider
Traceable ingredients, responsible formulations, place-based recordings, thoughtful objects and rare processes with a genuine reason to exist.
What acquisition means
Selected work may be considered for purchase, licensing or exclusive Maison development. Scope, rights, credit, commercial terms and timing are negotiated privately.
Rights, held with precision

Everything agreed formally.
Ownership, licensing, exclusivity, creator credit, compensation, territory and duration are defined only through a separate written agreement. Submission never transfers intellectual property or creates an obligation for either party.

Acquisition is never promised at inquiry or certification. Only exceptional work that truly belongs in the Maison proceeds to private terms.
